We have the 30&quot; model and (thankfully - after reading the other reviews) the drawer has worked fine for over 2 years. However, there are several items I do not like:&#013;&lt;br/&gt;1. While the push button drawer seems &quot;whiz-bang&quot; at first, I soon came to realize it is technology for technology&#039;s sake. It is a pain in the *** to use! With a normal hand latch (which I have in my undercounter unit in the RV), you can quickly and easily open and close the door without really looking at it. A quick glance or use of peripheral vision is enough to open or close the door. With this one, you have to focus on the display panel, find the right button (one for open, one for close) and press it. In practice, this takes a lot more time than grabbing a handle.&#013;&lt;br/&gt;2. The door is slow to open and close, so if you are in a hurry (as I often am, starting and stopping the unit often to turn or move items), it seems like it takes forever. With a lot of use, it gets quite frustrating.&#013;&lt;br/&gt;3. The movement of the drawer moving in and out is sufficiently jerky to spill liquids that are close to the rim (e.g., a full mug of water). And if your plastic dome cover doesn&#039;t fit on your plate well, it will slide off while closing the drawer, defeating the purpose of using it.&#013;&lt;br/&gt;4. The default is to have a &quot;End of Cooking&quot; reminder every 10 seconds for the first minute, then every 3 minutes until you press Stop/Clear. Drives me crazy if I am busy doing other things. While this can be turned off (with use of the manual every time because it is not intuitive), if you live in an area where there are frequent power outages (even short blips), it will return to the default and back you go to the manual.&#013;&lt;br/&gt;5. It does not have a turntable. The salesperson assured us that was because only inferior units heated unevenly and therefore needed one. Well, this one heats unevenly. You can have 2 mugs of water in the unit and if placed just right (or wrong), one will be boiling hot while the other is only lukewarm. Very frustrating!&#013;&lt;br/&gt;6. The space the drawer takes while open is considerable and if you happened to hit it while it was out, I&#039;m sure you could cause it to come out of alignment. I&#039;m always worried about this when I need both hands to take something out. I have to put it down, close the door, then pick it up again and deliver it to the table or wherever. With a normal door, you always have the option of pushing the door closed with your leg, thereby clearing a path for others who may also be working in the area.&#013;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Bottom line: unless you want a unit that is just for show (guests always are impressed with the moving drawer), save your money and get a normal unit. The display is easier to read on the Sharp undercounter unit because they put the controls at an upward angle. However, if you get a normal one that has easy-to-use controls, you&#039;ll find overall that it is easier to use than the Sharp.

This microwave came with our new house which we bought almost 1 year ago.  Everyone thinks it is so cool because of how the door slides out.  It&#039;s worked fine since we got it, but nothing special (Certainly our previous $100 microwave was sufficient for our needs).  After less than a year of use, the door doesn&#039;t open anymore, and repairing it will be over $400!  It needs two control panels replaced.  The home builder purchased it a year and a half ago, so no warranty.

The drawer has stopped opening and closing after only about 14 months of use.  Sharp refuses to do anything to help with repair costs because &quot;it is so far out of warranty&quot;.  Apparently 2 months out of warranty is a long time...Do not buy this product and do not buy a Sharp product if you want a manufacturer that stands behind their product.
