I just bought this recently from this seller for about $50 less. Really nice microwave - has so much power that I find I need to reduce the power level for lots of things and if I don't, the time is greatly reduced. Burned popcorn almost immediately at high heat.

Very tough, very sleek looking, but huge. Keep in mind when buying to have a large space for it. It doesn't bother me, but my husband thinks it is too big and we have a large kitchen with lots of counter space.

I own the Kitchenaid KBMR1454R. I assume this (the KBMR1454SSS) is a different version of the same model (SSS standing for stainless steel trim. I have a serious problem with my microwave, and I caution anyone considering this model to investigate the functioning of the cooling fan. If the interior of the oven gets overheated, the cooling fan comes on. It either shuts down operation in the middle of your cooking cycle, or remains on after your cycle is finished. When this happens the microwave is unusable for as much as five minutes until the interior cools and the fan goes off. It takes almost nothing to make this happen. The other day I defrosted 3 meatballs (small ones!) on low power for 3 minutes. The cooling fan came on and I had to wait 5 minutes before heating up the sauce to put them in. In the meantime, my kids were climbing the walls. If I make bacon, I have to make it in shifts, allowing the microwave to cool down in between each 4 slices. It's impossible to defrost a single-serving bowl of soup in one shot. It's clear to me that the engineers who designed this microwave never tried to use it to cook for a busy family. It's very expensive, relative to other ovens, but I splurged because I use a microwave so frequently. It was a huge waste of money, and I caution anyone who plans to use a microwave with any frequency against buying it.

One appliance, two functions, I love it! When counter space is at a minimum, it's nice to have only one appliance sitting on the counter. I won't buy any other microwave except this model. I hope Daewoo never stop making it.

1. Save space, less space than a toaster + microwave
2. Reasonable power on the microwave, perfect for reheating food
3. Toaster is surprisingly good. The digital timer gets your toast the way you like everytime, and very easy to adjust up or down. The slots are much wider than even a bagel half, you can get dinner rolls in there!
4. It does get a little smokey during toasting, but it's not major.
5. Great value, especially on sale.

.
25-December-2006
.
I have owned this since July of 2005. {Mine is White - #R2120jW.}
.
I have NO signifacant complaints, and a couple of real "pro's".
.
1. The continuous power levels - allowed by the "inverter technology"
in this one Sharp and most Panasonic MicroWave Ovens - ranging
from "10" (full power) down thru "3" (30% power)-
are a REAL ADVANTAGE.
.
. Warming food at 30% is a gradual heating which
allow the heat to spread thruout the food fairly evenly, and
avoids most hot-spots and re-cooking -
especially advantageous for all meats.
.
Power levels 20% and 10% do cycle On & Off, I am told - probably at the 30% level.
.
2. The plain smooth oven bottom is easy to use and to clean.
Sharp claims that the microwaves electronically rotate -
which certainly is technically feasable - and thus
NO Turntable is necessary.
. Food does heat more evenly
than I have experienced in my many prior microwaves,
but it is not perfect.
.
and
.
3. The "features" - such as the "lunch" heating/cooking menu,
are worthwhile.
.
4. The under-oven lights are not what I have enjoyed before.
Instead of dimmng the lights, the switch simply
turns off one of the bulbs.
NOT a good idea - the bulbs last much longer with a simple diode switch
(changing bulbs is a pain - and you need very special bulbs) and
the quality of "dim" light is better with a simple diode-switch for dimming.
.
5. The "Minute-Plus" feature is great.
.
6. The power level must be set my multiple touches of the power button;
use of the numeric keypad would have been much better.
.
Note: I mounted the oven two 2-by-4 thicknesses (3") out from the wall,
and 16" above the stove top; the cabinet above is mounted with its doors
flush with the face of the oven. This both the microwave oven and
the top wall cabinet more easily reachable and usable.
.
Bottom Line: I would buy the same oven again for over-range use.
I would buy ONLY an inverter-technology
( continuous reduced power as versus cycling on & off ) unit
for ANY style/size of Microwave oven.
.
Reviewed by: Jim A.in PierPort, Michigan
.

We had this oven installed on December 1st 2008. It lasted 4 weeks before the magnetron and inverter went, rendering the microwave completely unusable.
We called kitchenaid to get the appliance fixed, who sent a repair technician who diagnosed the problem but couldn't fix it. Kitchenaid then sent ANOTHER technician who then had to re-diagnose the problem.
The second technician has been a nightmare since, unable to order correct parts and fix the problem at all.
To this date, the oven has been broken for 4 weeks with no sign of it getting fixed anytime soon. Do yourself a favor and get something else.

When we were remodeling our kitchen we decided to replace our Sharp countertop convection microwave with the over the range model. I really miss the old one. This new model seems to be a lot noisier than the old one. I went from 1.5 cubic feet down to 1.1 and it feels like I lost a lot more room than that. The hood light is VERY dim and the replacement bulbs (2) each cost at least $4 a piece if you can find them. Because we had to vent this into the kitchen we had to sent away to Sharp for a charcoal filter that cost $20 (filter plus shipping and handling.) We had planned to vent it to the outside but the vent didn't even come close to matching up the hole from our former range hood. The cooking turntable is white and very had to keep clean. It is only a month old and is very stained already.
I do like to have the cooking area at eye level.
I researched the price for comparable items on the web before buying and Amazon offered the best price as well as free shipping. I am very pleased with Amazon!

I purchased this item for two reasons, 1) because this is a Union Made microwave assembled in TN (the only American made microwave I've found) and 2) It has a convection oven that can double as a 2nd oven.
The styling on this unit is very nice, sleek and not overcomplicated, it enhances the look of my kitchen.

The microwave cooking is simple, with built in functions for thawing frozen items or popping popcorn, etc. You punch a button, it asks you how many steaks you are defrosting or how much popcorn you are popping and it does the rest.

Convection cooking is new to me, but the manual and recipe booklet that come with the unit have already produced salmon steaks with a white wine/basil sauce and cooked a pizza. I've found that in the heat of the summer I can use this oven vs. my gas oven and it cooks faster and doesn't heat up the house as much. There is also a function that combines microwave and convection cooking to get meals done even faster... there are so many things this machine does, I've yet to figure them all out.

A nice feature, you can turn the turntable on/off depending on whether you have a round or rectangular dish.

The unit runs on regular 110 voltage, so no complicated rewiring.

GE, Kenmore and Samsung all have similar units -all made in Korea, all for the same price or more. I chose this microwave because I was tired of complaining about outsourcing of American jobs and wanted to support a company like Sharp that is still making some of their units here in the USA.

This is our 3rd version of this same unit (1st one sold w. house...second burned out after 11 years of continuous use! This newest of this Sharp line is very good looking, beautiful Stainless throughout & larger (inside) then previous units...it has really simplified convection & mix cooking with help of it's internal computer. This is great for all of your cooking, especially cooking for 2, we never use the regular oven except for a large turkey (this unit will hold a 10# bird.) There was a problem with one of the large bolts that holds it on the back plate..did not line up correctly...that was a pain. Also shipping by UPS or FED EX ends up with a mutilated box & I'm sure damaged units (we lucked out no damage to unit- the unit is quite heavy 84# so I'm sure the carrier just "heaves" it - so if your box is badly damaged don't even open it - send it back for a new one) they should really be shipped using another source.

I purchase this oven to replace a Sharp countertop model I've had for years. The only reason I replaced it was because I remodeled my kitchen and I wanted to free up as much counter space as I could so I went to this LG over-the-range microwave and I'm sorry that I did. This LG can't hold a candle to my old Sharp. Using the re-circulating vent sounds like a frieght train and hardly removes any smoke at all. The door is flimsy and there is no way that you can close the door without slamming it shut and making a loud bang. It does cook ok but so does a $50.00 oven that you could buy at Walmart. For the price of this oven, I should be satisfied but not so. I'm very dissapointed and hope you don't make the same mistake that I did.
